Our Story
It all began in the very north of Scotland, when I started working in hotels at the age of 17 then went to college to study the art of cooking. From there I worked in several hotels and finally trained in the pastry kitchen of a Michelan star restaurant. I have always loved pastry and making cakes and started by making them for family and friends. I even made my own wedding cake and have done a few for family over the years.
Once my husband and I moved into our house and children came along, I decided to find a part time job which would give me more time with the children and more time to make cakes. This slowly turned into a business and several years ago I officially started Slice of Fife. As the business has grown, we decided to move things from the kitchen in the house to my own custom space. So we built a kitchen in a separate building in our garden. I love making cakes and seeing people's reaction when they're finished.
